Rode NTG3 Black Shotgun Microphone

The super cardioid pattern really isolated my subject's voice from a noisy air conditioner on set. Build quality feels incredibly solid for the price point, too.

Took this out for a dialogue-heavy shoot and the super cardioid pattern kept the air conditioner hum completely out of the mix. The pickup is so clean and focused that I barely needed any noise reduction in post.

The holographic foil on the cover caught my eye immediately, and the jacket itself fits slim without feeling tight. I’ve washed it twice already and the color hasn’t faded at all, which is a huge plus for me. Just wish the zipper pull was a bit sturdier, but for the price, I’m really happy with it.
