Nextbase 122 vs 322GW vs 622GW: Dash Cam Comparison

Three Nextbase models, three very different jobs

The Nextbase 122, 322GW, and 622GW sit at different points in the dash cam market. The 122 is an entry-level model with 720p HD recording, a 5-layer glass lens, and a 120° viewing angle. The 622GW is a feature-rich 4K dash cam with image stabilisation, Alexa voice control, and a 3” HD IPS touch screen. The 322GW is priced between them, but the supplied catalog copy for that model describes a Uniden iGO Cam 85R—a different brand and product. That mismatch means you should not rely on the 322GW listing for Nextbase-specific features until the description is corrected.

This guide compares the two models with reliable Nextbase information and explains what the 322GW listing does and does not tell you.

Nextbase 122 vs 622GW: recording and features

• Recording resolution: The 122 records at 720p HD. The 622GW records at 4K (30fps) and also offers Super Slow Motion at 1080p for reviewing incidents. Higher resolution helps capture details like number plates, but it also means larger files and a greater need for storage management.
• Lens and viewing angle: The 122 uses a 5-layer glass lens with a 120° viewing angle. The 622GW does not list a viewing angle in the supplied information, so you cannot compare coverage directly from the catalog.
• Image stabilisation: The 622GW includes image stabilisation to minimise vehicle vibrations. The 122 does not list this feature in the supplied information.
• Smart features: The 622GW adds Alexa voice control, Enhanced Night Vision, Extreme Weather Mode, Intelligent Parking Mode, Emergency SOS, and a GPS module. The 122 lists free cloud video storage at mynextbase.com but no other smart features.
• Screen: The 622GW has a 3” HD IPS touch screen. The 122 does not list a screen size in the supplied information.

What the catalog confirms about the Nextbase 122

• Nextbase 122 Dash Cam: 720p HD recording on a 5-layer glass lens with a 120° viewing angle. This is a basic but usable resolution for everyday driving. The 120° angle covers a reasonable view without stretching the image too far.

• Nextbase 122 Dash Cam: Free cloud video storage at mynextbase.com. Cloud backup protects footage if the camera or memory card is damaged, which is a practical benefit for first-time dash cam owners.
• Nextbase 122 Dash Cam: Positioned as ideal for the younger or first-time driver. The simple feature set and lower price make it a low-risk entry point if you mainly want basic incident recording.

What the catalog confirms about the Nextbase 622GW

• Nextbase 622GW Dash Cam: 4K image quality at 30fps with image stabilisation. 4K gives you more detail for identifying number plates and road features, while stabilisation helps reduce vibration blur.

• Nextbase 622GW Dash Cam: Alexa voice control, Enhanced Night Vision, Extreme Weather Mode, Intelligent Parking Mode, Emergency SOS, and GPS module. These features suit drivers who want hands-free control, better low-light footage, and parking protection.
• Nextbase 622GW Dash Cam: 3” HD IPS touch screen panel. A touch screen makes menu changes easier while parked, though you should not interact with it while driving.
• Nextbase 622GW Dash Cam: Super Slow Motion at 1080p. Useful for reviewing incident footage frame by frame, especially for details like number plates.

The 322GW listing problem: what you can and cannot trust

The supplied catalog description for the Nextbase 322GW (product ID 1945418) does not describe a Nextbase dash cam. It describes the Uniden iGO Cam 85R, a 4K dash cam from a different brand. The listing mentions 4K definition and improved video quality for reporting incidents, but those claims belong to the Uniden product, not the Nextbase 322GW.

Because the description is mismatched, you cannot confirm the 322GW's recording resolution, lens, viewing angle, smart features, or included accessories from the supplied information. The only reliable facts are the product name and the price: USD 198.09, with a comparison price of USD 279.00. That price sits between the 122 (USD 59.19) and the 622GW (USD 341.00).

If you are considering the 322GW, treat the listing as incomplete. Check with Camera Clix for a corrected description before buying, or choose a model with clear, consistent information.

Which Nextbase fits your driving?

• First-time driver or tight budget: The Nextbase 122 covers basic 720p recording, a 120° view, and free cloud storage. It is the simplest and least expensive way to add dash cam protection.
• Daily commuter who wants detail and smart features: The Nextbase 622GW offers 4K recording, image stabilisation, night vision, parking mode, and Alexa voice control. It costs more, but the extra detail and features help in incidents and parking situations.
• Shoppers considering the 322GW: The price is between the other two, but the catalog description is for a different product. Do not assume it has the features listed there. Confirm the actual specifications before buying.

What the catalog does not tell you

The supplied information does not include power requirements, installation steps, battery life, or memory card compatibility for any of these models. It also does not confirm whether the 122 and 622GW share mounts or accessories. Those details matter for setup, so check the manufacturer's documentation or ask Camera Clix before you buy.

For the 322GW, the description mismatch means even basic recording specifications are unconfirmed. That is a reason to pause rather than assume.
