Rode NTG2 Shotgun Microphone

I was worried about handling wind noise on outdoor shoots, but the lightweight build makes it easy to boom for hours without fatigue.

The low self-noise is a game-changer for dialogue recording—crystal clear even in quiet scenes. It's light enough to hold for long takes without my arm getting tired.

Boom pole in one hand, this thing barely registers on my arm even after an hour of shooting. The full frequency response really captured that dialogue crispness I’ve been chasing, and it’s quiet enough that I didn’t have to scrub room tone in post. Definitely my new go-to for outdoor interviews.
