Bought this for low-light portrait work, and the f/1.2 aperture is fantastic for separating the subject from the background. The out-of-focus color bleeding is noticeably well-controlled, even wide open. Just wish the lens hood came with a lock.

The ED element really does its job—colors stay clean and true even at f/1.2, no fringing on high-contrast edges. Focus is quick and silent, which made shooting in dim light feel effortless. This lens is staying glued to my camera.

I was worried about chromatic aberration in portraits, but the three bonded lens elements really clean up the color fringing even wide open. The f/1.2 aperture makes low-light shooting effortless, and the focus ring has a nice damped feel.
