Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Series Lens - Sigma

The Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Series Lens offers exceptional optical performance and durability, making it an ideal choice for photographers seeking high-quality results. Here are the technical details:

1. Optical Performance: With a fast f/1.4 maximum aperture, this lens excels in low-light conditions and provides precise control over depth of field for selective focusing. The optical design incorporates advanced elements, including two Special Low Dispersion (SLD) elements, one element with high anomalous partial dispersion and a high index of refraction, and one aspherical element. These elements work together to minimize chromatic aberrations and ensure high image sharpness, clarity, and contrast across the entire focusing range and aperture settings. Additionally, the optical design helps control distortion and vignetting, resulting in superior image quality.

2. Super Multi-Layer Coating: The lens features a Super Multi-Layer Coating applied to the lens elements, which minimizes lens flare and ghosting while enhancing contrast and color neutrality, even in challenging lighting conditions such as backlighting. This coating contributes to producing high-quality, contrast-rich imagery with accurate color reproduction.

3. Construction and Design: The lens is constructed using a Thermally Stable Composite (TSC) material, along with traditional metals, ensuring durability and precision in various shooting conditions, including wide temperature variations. The bayonet mount is constructed from brass for enhanced accuracy and durability over time.

4. Autofocus System: The lens incorporates an integrated Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) for quick and quiet autofocusing performance. An optimized AF algorithm enhances focusing accuracy and responsiveness, ensuring smooth and precise focusing performance. The HSM also allows for full-time manual focus control, enabling photographers to make manual adjustments instantly by rotating the focus ring.

5. Aperture Range and Diaphragm: The lens offers an aperture range from f/1.4 to f/16, providing versatility for various shooting scenarios and lighting conditions. The rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to producing smooth and attractive bokeh, enhancing the aesthetic quality of out-of-focus areas in the image.

Overall, the Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Series Lens combines outstanding optical performance, advanced features, and durable construction, making it an excellent choice for photographers seeking superior image quality and reliability for artistic and creative applications.
