The technical details behind this binoculars

Nikon Monarch HG 8x30 Binoculars offer great optical performance. The 8x power magnifies objects while yielding a larger exit pupil and longer eye relief versus higher-power optics for a more comfortable viewing experience. It is a great alternative to the larger 42mm models for those who need to move fast and light, but don't want to sacrifice performance. It offers a roof prism light path that helps to maintain a slim profile for easier and more comfortable handling. It features extra-low dispersion glass that reduces chromatic and spherical aberrations for increased contrast and improved colour rendition and sharpness without distortion across the entire field of view. The highly reflective dielectric prism coatings minimize internal light loss to maintain image brightness and improve contrast and clarity. It also features phase-corrected prisms that eliminate internal interference in the light path to improve contrast and resolution. The field-flattener lens system corrects lens-edge distortion for clearer views at the edge of the field of view.

Our expert's opinion

Great pick for those who are looking to reduce the size and weight of their binoculars without sacrificing performance. Like all HG models, the Nikon 8x30 is engineered with a powerful magnification for observing distant subjects such as large game or marker buoys and complementary technologies that produce an optic built to perform in all light conditions and survive the most challenging situations.

Elizabeth ★★★★★

The field of view is noticeably wider than my previous binoculars, making it much easier to scan treelines quickly. Even in low twilight hours, the image stays bright and sharp. Glad I went with this model for birding trips.

Hazel ★★★★★

Compared to my old pair, the eye relief on these is a game changer—I can finally use them with my glasses on for a full day of birding without eye strain. The 8x30 is so compact it disappears in my jacket pocket, and the image is crisp right to the edge.

Evelyn B. ★★★★★

These are hands down the clearest binoculars I've used in this size class. The 8x30 configuration gives me a wide enough field to track warblers in thick brush, and the eye relief is generous enough that I can keep my glasses on all day without any strain.
