Its short 50cm MOD makes this lens ideal for table-top photography and street photography.

Our expert’s opinion

Fujifilm has taken the level up with the FUJINON XF56mmF1.2 R WR. Apart from adding weather-resistance property, compared with its predecessor FUJINON XF56mmF1.2 R, Fujifilm has reduced the MOD from 70cm to 50cm and increased number of elements from 11 to 13. Moreover, this lens has an increased number of diaphragm blades from seven to 11, creating an almost perfect circle on the aperture diaphragm, which results in beautiful bokeh effect. Despite being a fast prime lens, it only weighs about 445 grams. This lens provides an enhanced resolving capability, creating better image quality and making it perfect for portrait photography and beyond.

Mia V. ★★★★★

Finally got to test the f/1.2 aperture in low light, and the 11-blade rounded diaphragm gives the most beautiful, smooth bokeh I've seen on any lens. Autofocus feels snappy and silent even on a busy street shoot.

Hazel ★★★★★

Shot this weekend’s portrait session wide open at f/1.2 and the sharpness on the eyes is unreal while the background just melts away— those 11 rounded blades really earn their keep. The weather sealing let me keep shooting through a light drizzle without a second thought. It’s a heavy piece of glass

Ellie D. ★★★★★

I was blown away by how sharp this lens is even wide open at f/1.2—portraits have incredible detail without sacrificing that creamy background. The weather sealing is a huge plus, letting me shoot confidently in light rain. It's quickly become my favorite lens for low-light shots.
