I was worried about carrying a heavy tripod on hikes, but this one balances stability with a manageable weight well. The 66.9-inch maximum height is a huge plus for my landscape shots without needing to crouch.

The flip locks on the legs are quick to operate and hold tight, which is great when you're setting up quickly on uneven terrain. It extends to a solid working height just under my eye level, and the ball head makes leveling the camera so much easier than a standard pan-tilt head.

I was surprised how stable this tripod feels even with my heaviest camera mounted, the twist locks on each leg section hold tight without slipping. The ability to go from 15 inches folded up to nearly 67 inches gives me plenty of flexibility for low-angle shots or full-height portraits.
